PK-LJM, Lion Air's 737-900 ER (damn, they are so long, vs 737-300/400 .. and need a tail bumper, not that it matters as the Indonesian pilots slam them anyway ... )

Wow great shots. That must be a long take off run for that A345 bound for Newark. Back in 2007, I flew nonstop from JFK-BKK aboard Thai's A345, and that was an incredibly long takeoff run understandably. KLM's 773 is gorgeous!

    • sfernando34: the only time I saw the A345 take off, they did a long run, and I believe it is to do with the reduced thrust take off .. lest they spend more fuel to carry the fuel

I remember PK complaining that half the fuel spent for the first half of the flight is to carry the fuel being transported

The times i head to Changi, nowadays, I get too lucky, the planes depart on the side i am watching .. the depart on on 20R/02C: if is the other way around, it would be much closer, when they come in for landing.

PS: Just saw this .. the Brunei Sultan nowadays is seen in the LEFT Seat of a BI 340-200, when doing regional visits ..

The 747-400 is still in their roster, post D Check of recent times ..

                          • has anyone seen the IL 18 gear retraction ? Scary to say the least And it is a bit of a edgy thing that they are allowed to fly in the 4R register

Wow great shots! I guess EY was running late, as if usually begins its journey back to AUH around 4:25 am. And it's a bit frightening to see those IL-18s go off. Harrowing to say the least, with a large plumes of smoke filling the sky behind it
