Looks like another corrupt deal needs to be investigated. This is a financial disaster!
As far as I know UL ordered only 4 x A321 neo and 2 x A320 neo. When did they order additional 4 x A320 neo? When is the delivery?

SriLankan Airlines (UL, Colombo International) has taken delivery of its maiden A321neo with 4R-ANC (msn 7663) having arrived at Colombo International from Hamburg Finkenwerder this last weekend. The aircraft is leased from AerCap and is due to enter revenue service from July 12 onwards. As previously reported, initial destinations will include Hyderabad International and Vishakhapatnam with Kochi International and Delhi International to follow in due course. SriLankan Airlines is expecting four A321neo with two each coming from AerCap and Air Lease Corporation. The second A321neo aircraft is due later this quarter with the third due by year-end, and the fourth due in the first quarter of 2018. The carrier also operates two A320neo with a further four due to arrive. SriLankan is using the Airbus twinjets to boost its Asian market presence - the Indian Ocean and Middle East regions in particular. "The arrival of the A320neo and A321neo aircraft will better align our fleet to this objective, as these aircraft are more suited to our medium-haul operations,” Suren Ratwatte, Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines, said.

              Usually pretty reliable.

But i guess that CH Aviation is following the article published by FlightGlobal back in March 2016. That time UL CEO was saying to FlightGlobal that 6 x A320neo aircraft due to arrive the UL Fleet within 2 years time. I assume UL CEO meant 6 x A320neo family aircraft (2 x A320neo + 4 x A321neo = 6 total).

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Here is the link of the FlightGlobal article:

                  Article Dated 08 March, 2016

"The airline last year retired its ageing Airbus A340s, and inducted seven new A330-300s. Over the next two years, it has six A320neo family aircraft, as well as three A350s, that are scheduled to be delivered, says the official. An additional three A350s will also be delivered at a later time."

"The airline’s fleet will however remain stable at around 21 aircraft, with older jets being retired as new ones are delivered."

SriLankan Airlines is focused on having its operations break even within the next two years, as it takes delivery of new aircraft and restructures its network.
UL better change the upcoming 4 x A350 orders to A320 & A330. But changing the order have to be done asap before the UL's A350 airframes come into production. Otherwise UL will end up with another penalty.

                  • As I've heard elsewhere CS-TFZ has been painted back in all white. Is that true? What happened to that deal? It seems to be flying for some European carrier lately.

EDIT: As per Airfleets, it's been leased to Jet2. (http://www.airfleets.net/ficheapp/plane-a330-1008.htm)

As I said earlier CS-TFZ is remaining in the Hifly fleet.

There is obviously some outstanding issues between UL and Aercap with regard to the settlement of the A350 order cancellation. CS-TFZ was part of this deal.

The aircraft is operated by Hifly under the Hilfy AOC with HiFly crews. Jet2 is the client.

You will see this with all the Hifly aircraft - they sometimes fly for 2 different clients on the same day with the same aircraft.

If the registration remains the same then so does the operator.

Sadly, 4R-ANC did not fly on its' first revenue flight to COK today due to unknown circumstances.. Wonder what happened? Wonder when the first flight will be, and to where would it go..

Wait, did they operate afternoon TRZ flight with A321 neo? Because FR24 could catch the reg nor the type. Usually FR24 will take a week or so to identify new reg and type.
