So, the MC-21 is said to have a range for around 6,000 KM and is being built by Irkut to compete with Boeing and Airbus in the narrow body range of aircraft

Maximum seating capacity in a standard Single Class layout will be 165 pax for the MC-21-200 and 211 pax for the MC-21-300, with most of the Russian Operators going in for the MC-21-300 variant.

So far, there are 350+ orders with Aeroflot,Red Wings,UTAir and Azerbaijan Airlines being scheduled to operate the MC-21-300 in the near future

MC 21 is looking good. Looks better than the A320 series . Might be cheaper as well !

Thanks for sharing the news with us!

Who will win this order from Qantas ? Airbus or Boeing ?

I think the SYD-LON nonstop flying time would be 20hrs 40mts. Do you think the SYD-LON route have premium traffic to make it successful ?

I haven't heard anything from the company - but that is normal. They don't give out very much information.

"Hi Fly (5K, Lisbon) is planning to take delivery of two A380-800s over the course of the next couple of months, official airline sources have confirmed to ch-aviation.

The Portuguese ACMI/charter specialist's president and chief executive Paulo Mirpuri said in an e-mailed statement that the first of two A380-800s would be put into commercial operation during the first quarter of 2018. A formal announcement concerning the requisite aircraft's identities, as well as their end-customer operator, will only be made in October once all the relevant contracts and permits are in place, he added.

It is recalled that Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) has already confirmed plans to retire its maiden quartet of the type - msn 3, 5, 8, and 10 - all of which are owned by Dr. Peters Group unit DS Aviation and managed by Doric Asset Finance. ch-aviation analysis of Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows the first, 9V-SKA (msn 3), was removed from service in June with the Singaporean operator having since confirmed that the aircraft is at Singapore Changi awaiting its return to DS Aviation.

                          Some more details here:-

Dr. Paulo Mirpuri, president, and CEO of Hi-Fly in Lisbon discusses his company's bold step in acquiring two ex-Singapore Airlines A380s. These aircraft will be deployed as wet leases to Hi Fly clients. He also explains how this move actually helps other airlines that are considering the A380 - Hi Fly is de-risking the decision.
