  1. Thomson Airways resumes seasonal flights to Colombo Airport

    Thomson Airways Limited, often referred to as Thomson, is the world's largest charter airline, is planning to offer once a week seasonal flights between London Gatwick and Colombo from 28th November 2017 until 17th April 2018.

  2. China Southern Airlines Plans Guangzhou-Colombo Flight Service

    Guangzhou based, China Southern Airlines is planning to serve Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport from 26th September 2017.

    China Southern Airlines is planning operate three flights per week to Colombo onboard Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Colombo bound flight (3Z3059) departs Guangzhou at 15:45 every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and arrives at Colombo at 18:35 on the same day. The aircraft departs from Colombo at 19:45 for the end-route to Male' arrives at 20:30. The Return flight (3Z3060) departs Male' at 21:55 and arrives Colombo at 23:55 and departs 01:05 on the Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays for the final leg to Guangzhou arrives at 09:00.

    China Southern Airlines was applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for rights to launch a new route to Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka in February 2017.

  4. SriLankan Airlines to wetlease 3 x New A330-300s to PIA

    Sri Lanka's debt-ridden national carrier, SriLankan Airlines is planning to re-lease three aircraft of it's fleet, according to SriLankan Airlines.

    An official of the airline has said that the management is in talks to wetlease three of the A330-300s aircraft to the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as a part of the restructuring of the airline by the Ministry of Public Enterprice and Development.

    According to the official, some top management at the airline has recently met with PIA officials in Pakistan. As per reliable sources registration of the three of the A330-300s going to be leased to PIA are 4R-ALL, 4R-ALM and 4R-ALN

  5. UIA Ukraine Airlines announces direct flights to Colombo

    Ukraine International Airlines, is the flag carrier and the largest airline of Ukraine, is going to launch the schedule flights to Sri Lanka Capital Colombo from the 5th November 2016. UIA will be serving Colombo in Winter 2016 and to continue it's Colombo services in Summer 2017. Previously the airline operated seasonal flights to Colombo during every Northern Winters. UIA becomes third the European airline to launch all season schedule flights to Colombo after termination of British Airways in March 2015. Currently Turkish Airlines is the only Europe based airline offering flights to Colombo via Male'.

    According to the media of UIA, they will offer passengers to take advantage of non-stop scheduled double weekly services between Kiev (Boryspil International Airport) and Colombo (Bandaranaike International Airport). The flights will be operated on modern Boeing 767-300ER aircraft
