Mihin Lanka starts Seychelles service from mid-November 2013
Sri Lanka's low cost carrier, Mihin Lanka will start new service to Mahe Island in Seychelles starting from 16th November 2013. The service will be operated twise a weekly basis, will fly nonstop between Colombo and Mahe Island operation onboard Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft.

Currently Mihin Lanka serve Jakarta, Medan, Dhaka, Delhi, Bodh Gaya, Varanasi, Madurai, Sharjah, Bahrain and Dubai. All Mihin Lanka flights operated by two Airbus A321s and single Airbus A320.
SriLankan Airlines eyeing Colombo to Seychelles and on to Nairobi..
Sri Lanka's national airline, SriLankan Airlines planning to start new service to Seychelles and Nairobi starting from October 2013. The airline will operate three return flights per week from Colombo to Seychelles and subject to regulatory approvals by the Kenyan authorities, will offer a through service to Nairobi.
During Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksaâ€™s visit to Seychelles in June, the two countries signed an agreement to establish direct air links as a way to catalyze the trade and tourism between the two island nations. The announcement was made following a meeting held in Seychelles between the officials of the two governments and representatives from the airlines of the two countries.
â€œSeychelles have agreed to a wide-ranging commercial agreement that will give customers of SriLankan Airline convenient access to Air Seychellesâ€™ regional network in the Indian Ocean and South Africa, including additional services from Colombo to Seychelles via Abu Dhabi. Customers of Air Seychelles will in turn enjoy access to new points in Sri Lanka, China, Japan, and Southern India, as well as Nairobi,â€ the announcement said.

Mihin Lanka extends Medan service from August..
Sri Lanka's budget carrier, Mihin Lanka will extend the period of the Medan service from 1st of August 2013 to 26th of October 2013. Mihin Lanka launched first flight to Medan on the 22nd of May 2013 but it was previously planned to operate the seasonal flights until 31st of July 2013.
Medan and Colombo (CMB) route twice weekly, represents a strategic milestone as it is Medanâ„¢s first scheduled route outside Southeast Asia. Mihin Lanka is targeting the large but under-served Medan-India market with the new route. Sumatra has IndonesiaÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s largest population of Indians. The large number of passengers flying between India and Medan has traditionally backtracked via Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. (CAPA)
The Mihin Lanka flights are timed to connect in Colombo with flights to throughout India and to the Middle East. Mihin Lanka serves five destinations in India while parent SriLankan serves seven destinations in India, including three that are also served by Mihin Lanka. The two carriers have a codeshare, facilitating transfers between the LCC and FSC. (CAPA)
